Each person approaches counseling with different reasons and goals. Some need to respond to unexpected changes in their lives, while others seek self-exploration and personal growth. Therapy or counseling can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping for issues such as depression, anxiety, lack of confidence, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, bereavement, spiritual conflicts, stress management, etc. People seeking counseling are willing to take responsibility for their actions, work towards self-change and create greater understanding in their lives.



Most of our clients are intelligent, successful people who are experiencing some trouble in their life (relationship difficulties, life transitions, depression) or feel ready to move beyond some past issue or limitation to create a more fulfilling life. We work with men, women, couples, and children, from school age to those in their eighties.



During sessions you are expected to talk about the primary concerns and issues in your life. Together, you and the therapist will identify your goals and create a plan to achieve results. Sessions last 50 minutes, although you can request longer sessions. Usually weekly sessions are best. Some people who are in crisis or extreme distress need more than one session per week, at least until the crisis passes. During the time between sessions it is beneficial to think about and process what was discussed. For therapy to "work", you must be an active participant, both in and outside of the therapy sessions.




Numerous benefits can be derived from working with a counselor. Therapy can provide a fresh perspective on a troublesome problem and give direction in finding lasting solutions. Many people find therapy to be a tremendous asset in enabling them to break bad habits and develop new ones, improve self-esteem, and develop new skills. Most insurance plans are accepted. Since there are a variety of insurance plans with varying coverage, please contact us and we will be happy to look into your particular plan. Please contact us for our rates if you do not have or prefer not to use insurance.



Since your appointment time has been reserved for you, please provide 24 hours of notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session.
